My Training Studio vs TrueCoach

TrueCoach is a workout-programming app for online coaches. We are studio operations software for in-person trainers. Every plan includes unlimited clients, with no per-client tiers as your roster grows.

Programming a workout is not running a studio

TrueCoach (owned by Xplor) is a workout-programming and remote-delivery tool. The coach designs the program, pushes it to the client's phone, the client logs each workout, the coach reviews form via video. The whole product loop is asynchronous and remote. For an online coach managing 50 remote clients on customized programs, that is exactly the right product.

TrueCoach optimizes for "what should this client do today?" Your studio software needs to optimize for "when is this client showing up, and has their card cleared?"

When a client trains in front of you, the program is happening live. You do not need workout delivery. You need to know whether they showed up, how many sessions are left in their package, whether their recurring billing went through, and what your trainer earned this week. That is the studio-operations problem. My Training Studio is built around it.

Unlimited clients on every plan

TrueCoach is competitive at small client counts. We pull ahead the moment your roster grows or you add a second trainer.

Which one is for you?

Pick TrueCoach if...

  • You design custom workout programs and need a real exercise library with video demos baked in.
  • Form-review video feedback is part of how you coach. Clients film, you mark up, asynchronously.
  • Your clients are remote. Most communication runs through the TrueCoach mobile app, not face-to-face.
  • You are growing an online coaching business and accept per-client tier pricing as the cost model.

Pick My Training Studio if...

  • You train clients in person. Programs are coached live, not delivered through an app.
  • Sessions on a calendar and packages drawn down on attendance is the unit of your business.
  • You want unlimited clients on every plan with no per-client fees.
  • You need trainer commission tracking and payouts because you have or are about to hire trainers.
  • You want to own your Stripe account, not run payments through someone else's processor.

Common questions

Is TrueCoach good for in-person personal training?

TrueCoach is built for online and hybrid coaches who deliver workout programs through a phone app. The whole loop is built around programming, exercise demos, client logging, and form review. For an in-person studio where clients show up, train face-to-face, and the relationship is the product, the programming app is not what you need. You need booking, session packages, trainer commissions, and accountability tools. My Training Studio is built around those.

What does My Training Studio offer that TrueCoach does not?

Built-in 1-on-1 in-person booking with trainer conflict detection, session-package balance tracking with FIFO drawdown across overlapping packages, contract-to-schedule linking so attendance auto-deducts from the package, sessions-remaining alerts, trainer commission tracking and payouts, and unlimited clients on every plan with no per-client fees.

How is the pricing different?

TrueCoach prices in tiers based on the number of active clients, so the cost grows as your roster grows. My Training Studio is a flat fee per studio with unlimited clients on every plan, plus standard Stripe processing rates. TrueCoach is cheaper at very small client counts; MTS pulls ahead as soon as you grow past a single tier.

Can TrueCoach handle session packages and studio contracts?

TrueCoach tracks workouts and check-ins, but it does not have first-class session-package balances, contract-to-schedule linking, or FIFO drawdown across overlapping packages. My Training Studio treats those as core features because that is how an in-person studio bills.
